Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Melissa, and I’m a third year neuroscience graduate student at Thomas Jefferson University here in Philadelphia. I study the effects of light on body rhythms in humans. I’m also a co-host of the podcast Girls Gone Geek, and a contributor to the blogs for Girls Gone Geek and the Apple Phone Show.
Why are you attending BarCamp Philly?
I’m attending BarCamp Philly to meet new (I’m sure awesome) people, see great people I already know, and to learn some great new things! You never know who you will meet/network/connect with at these events, and I can’t wait to have a wonderful time!
If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
I’m a HUGE Apple fangirl, so I would probably lead a session about using your Mac and/or iPhone to its full potential. Or something about surviving graduate school.
Tell us one random fact about yourself.
When I’m not busy with school, lab, or podcasting, I love taking pictures of my family and cats, reading, and watching TV shows and movies.
